Mezzo-Soprano
Amsterdam, The Netherlands

"A mezzo trained equally in the grand opera house and the gut-strung consort — equally at home in Purcell's ornament and Mozart's line."
Zehavah Littel is a mezzo-soprano working across opera, oratorio, and concert repertoire, with a parallel devotion to historically-informed early music practice. Her voice moves between the stage and the period ensemble — from fully-staged opera with modern orchestra to intimate continuo-accompanied recital — bringing the same attention to text, ornament, and line to both worlds. She appears as a soloist and within ensemble in equal measure, valuing the discipline of blend as much as the exposure of the solo line.
